Join the Online Revolution with Shoply

The UK going into lockdown was a big shock, customers and shops alike tried to adapt to ‘the new normal’. The large supermarkets benefited from panic buying in the first few days, however, customers quickly realised that as people flocked in their masses social distancing was of great difficulty. Thus kickstarting the online groceries buying revolution. 

Customers could enjoy the convenience of an online shop, within the safety of their own homes. As this trend became more popularised securing a supermarket delivery slot was increasingly challenging, with some people reporting a two-week wait before delivery would become available. In light of this challenging time, the high streets were emptying as customers avoided leaving their homes as instructed by the government. Research conducted by the Scottish Grocer and Convenience Retailer found that 84% of customers prefer to order online or via an app.

Our app, Shoply, which offers 1-hour delivery of groceries, drinks, snacks and household essentials, saw a spike in orders over 500%.
