Price Marked Packs – Good or Bad?
Everyone is banging on about the power of price-marked packs (PMPs). The suppliers love them because they can control the retail-selling price. Consumers love them. Why? Because they give them confidence that the pricing is competitive. And there is no doubt that PMPs drive sales.
That said PMPs are no good if the retailer is paying for them through reduced gross margins. We are being told regularly that margins are being eroded by suppliers and by wholesalers.
